INTAN JAYA - Soldiers from the 509th Raider Infantry Battalion/Balawara Yudha Kostrad, under the HABEMA Operational Command, launched the “ROSITA” (Buy Up Farming Products) program on Monday, October 28, 2024, in Mamba Village, Sugapa District, Papua Tengah. This initiative not only strengthens the local economy but also fosters closer relationships between the military and the community.
Led by First Lieutenant Wanianto from the Holomama Post, the soldiers purchased vegetables, fruits, and other farm products from Mamba residents using their personal funds. Commander of the 509 Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, emphasized that assisting communities is as crucial as safeguarding security.

The Rosita program allowed the soldiers to engage directly with local farmers and support their livelihoods. Despite having limited budgets, the soldiers voluntarily used their own money to purchase local products, which were then used as daily provisions. This gesture demonstrated the soldiers' commitment and empathy toward the community’s well-being.
“Through this initiative, we want the villagers to feel appreciated. Their smiles and gratitude show that our presence here makes a difference, ” said First Lieutenant Wanianto. One of the villagers, Mrs. Ria Japugau, expressed her happiness: “Thank you, Commander 509. God bless you, ” she said after her produce was bought by the soldiers.
The positive impact of the Rosita program earned praise from Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, Commander of HABEMA. “This initiative by the 509 Battalion reflects TNI's dedication not only to securing the region but also to improving the welfare of the people. It aligns perfectly with the government’s mission to accelerate development in Papua, ” said Avianto.
The program strengthens trust between the military and local communities, providing a sense of hope and cooperation that is essential for sustainable growth in the region. With security and community engagement working hand-in-hand, the development of Papua is expected to progress smoothly.
